And the winner is…..(drumroll)

8 Aug

………………….

NUMBER 3!  Giselle! Woo hoo! And this was Giselle’s outfit…..

Giselle says:

I can’t decide which one outfit I’d wear the gingham bow tie with… it’s a toss up between:
• with an oversize shirt, pencil skirt and ankle cowboy boots for work (kind of look like a 50s waitress)
• adding a bit of colour to my brown ’70s shirt-dress with equestrian motifs printed all over it

Failing that, I’d probably wear it in my hair with whatever happens to be clean and near the front of the wardrobe most days!

Well done and congratulations! If you can email me your full name and address to jaqueline(@)craftyfoxes.co.uk, I will send that onto Shauna and Stephen and your new bow tie will wing it’s way to you as soon as possible!

Sorry it’s taken me a week longer to announce it. There have been a couple of things going on that unfortunately got in the way of any blogging but it’s service as usual again!

Be back soon!

Happy Number 1 Forage Bow Ties!!!!

22 Jul

A year ago today something special was created. Shauna and Stephen of Something’s Hiding In Here launched an awesome little pop-up shop at The Curiosity Shoppe in San Francisco selling handmade bow ties from vintage fabrics.

One year on and they’ve had 7 collections of  FORAGE bow ties (with number 8 out in August), all of which have sold out or are currently very close to selling out. And more recently, Shauna and Stephen created their first collection of sumptuous Ladies Bow Ties which I coveted and then finally got my hands on. I chose the KATRINA Multi Colour Gingham and every time I’ve worn it have received nothing but love for it…..and impressed gasps when they realise I’ve tied it myself and it’s NOT a clip-on! 🙂

(Me in my KATRINA bow tie, looking particularly badass! Haha, but it seriously is my new favourite accesory and I wore it out to dinner with a friend/potential date this week…fingers crossed it has magic dating powers!)
Now here comes the really exciting part…as part of the celebrations for FORAGE’s First Birthday, I’m giving away one of the sold out Ladies Bow Ties! The JENNA Pink Gingham bow tie, pictured at the very top of this post, is one of my favourites and one of you, my lucky readers, has the chance to win win win! And this is the LAST ONE! After this is sent to you, there are no more JENNA bow ties left to buy anywhere.

All you have to do to win is leave a comment in the comments section on here with your name and email and the outfit you would wear your new bow tie with. My favourite new outfit with my bow tie is a black shirt and black skirt/skinny black trousers so the bow tie really pops! This giveaway will be open until end of day 29th July and the winner will be chosen at random just after midnight. Good luck!

And to Shauna and Stephen and FORAGE Bow Ties,

Pretty Things Thursday

4 Mar

I’m currently typing this with freshly painted nails – they appear to be dry but that is never the case so I’m being cautious!

New nails!

I’ve found a lot of pretty things over the last few weeks – this feature has been absent for personal reasons…I’ve only really been able to update once a week with all the things that have been going on in my life recently! I’ll start off with the most recent pretty things I’ve found…

Pretty cute tee-shirts from Skunkboy Creatures! With an original drawing by Elsie Cake herself!

A pretty picture from Sherri DuPree.

Pretty colour scheme from Giant Dwarf (depending on birthday money situation after Saturday, I shall be purchasing these!!).

Really pretty shoes! I have a crush on brogues at the moment but nowhere near enough money to satiate it! Haha.

Pretty yarn from Debbie Stoller’s new yarn line, Stitch Nation! I’m so bummed it’s only available in the US right now. The colours in the Full o’ Sheep line (hehe, what a great name!, and featured above) are sumptious and I wouldn’t mind a ball of each!

So there are a few pretty things to help get you through this weekend! I may be a little late with my Sunday Round Up this week as IT’S MY BIRTHDAY ON SATURDAY!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!! It’s also Katja and Erin’s birthday’s tomorrow so go wish them a happy birthday too! I’m bummed I can’t be at Erin’s Alice In Wonderland themed birthday party in Springfield this weeked (so is Katja) but I’m sure we will all spend a brthday weekend together at some point! Happy Birthday ladies! I’m glad and honoured I’m able to include you in my new circle of friends! Crafty kisses and hugs!

To all you out there, have a great weekend and I hope your week has been good to you!

The Sunday Round Up

7 Feb

I’ve had quite a bit of time at home this week (which makes me a bit nervous as it means no money) but it’s given me some time to get non-creative things done. However once those non-creative things are out of the way, I’ve been able to look at things that help get my creative mind flowing again.

I’ve read about Uppercase on many blogs but never got around to buying a copy until now. I’m so glad I did – amazing interviews, articles and artwork!! But I’m also really sad as both Issue 1 and 2 have sold out!! I’m one of those people who likes to have complete collections and without those two issues I’m stuck. Humph. Anyone out there have a spare copy of either or know where I can get them from? (Thanks in advance!!)

I love the colours in this photo, taken by Rachel over at Smile and Wave of thumb hearts made by her son. It also reminds me that Valentine’s Day is a week away! Which leads me onto the next photo…

I bought these from Something’s Hiding in Here a week ago and they finally arrived yesterday. I was initially going to give one to my boyfriend on Valentine’s Day but they were smaller than I thought they would be (me not reading the size scale) so I thought it’s be cute to give him one early. He likes them – we both appreciate good design and love letterpress stuff. I’m a huge fan of Something’s Hiding in Here too and would like one of their wooden rings when I get some money in my pocket. And sticking with valentine’s themed stuff…

Vivianna over at Polka Dot Robot has been experimenting with TTV effects and one of the results was this wonderful picture of some knitted hearts that were part of the PDR shop update that also happened this week. I did succumb and bought myself a knitting pattern and a coffee cozy, but I know I’m supporting a friend and small business so I don’t mind spending a little!

And here are some random delights that have made my week a lot more colourful and inspiring…

About to be made/melted into cupcake-shaped rainbow crayons!! Heidi over at My Paper Crane has some pretty darn good ideas for party favours and treats for kiddo’s if you’re ever stuck!

The appropriately named Candy Sprinkles sock yarn, available over at Studioloo. One word – YUM!!

These lovely crocheted circles are some of the inspiration for a gift I’m currently making for someone. Which I need to get cracking with, eek! I love the colour combinations.

So that’s the round up for this week! I hope you’ve enjoyed it and have found something that has inspired you. I’ve got an interesting week ahead that I have to prepare for so I might not be blogging as much. Leave some comment love and go visit the people that I’ve linked to in this blog post. They’re all amazing! Hope you’ve had a great weekend and a good week ahead.
