BUST Summer Craftacular London – Vendors Wanted!

2 Jun

So I am again helping out with the BUST London Craftacular. Huzzah! This is a last minute call for vendors for the Summer event happening on July 10th!

Vendor applications must be in by June 7th (you have 5 days, crafty people!) and can be found here – http://bust.com/craftacular/apply-london.html. If you’ve never taken part before and aren’t quite sure of what to expect take a look at my flickr stream! Right at the very beginning are photos from the first one I helped out at in August last year. It was amazing and I’m so glad to be a part of an amazing event that brings crafters and makers and just downright cool people together!

So go apply and even if you don’t, make sure you mark the date in your diary!! It’s THE Summer craft fair of the season!!

I’m Not Myself Right Now

30 Apr

I’m having a hard time blogging lately. I just don’t find myself very inspired to do so. I know a few other bloggers have felt this way recently so it’s not something that bothers me too much but I just thought you, my readers should get a reason to why I’m not posting here.

It’s funny though. Mentally I feel better than I have done in a very long time. I’ve been going to the gym regularly and eating better, and found that it’s really helped! However my health itself is annoying me right now – my liver has decided to play up for some reason so I’m having to go for yet another blood test (this will be my third) and an ultrasound. To be honest, I’m a bit scared. Not only about the blood test, due to my MASSIVE medical needle phobia but about my health. This is the first time I’ve had any tests like this done. I’ve had a few teary moments about it and have thought of all the things it could possibly be or not be (and googled them, haha. Why do we do it?). Hopefully the tests come back conclusively with something this time round and I can move on with a treatment, etc…to fix the problem. I guess it’s the worrying that’s affecting my motivation and taking my mind off doing things here.

I do also have another reason why I’ve been absent. I have been asked to come up with product samples for a small shop – all original and exclusive Crafty Foxes designs to fit with the themes of the shop itself. I have just under two weeks to get them ready and will posts sneak peaks here as soon as I can and will announce the store once they’ve decided on the products to stock. It’s very exciting as I only set up my online shop recently and hopefully this will lead onto bigger and better things!

Sorry this isn’t such a picture heavy post but if I manage to get a good amount of samples made over the next two weeks then I will post more here. Hopefully my product research will help with that! I hope you are all well and enjoying yourselves right now.

Crafty Fixes at Crafty Foxes

20 Apr

Look to the right…..Yup, just under the polaroid photo…..Do you see it?

Your eyes are not deceiving you. The first 3 items are now officially for sale through the Crafty Foxes online shop! I’m doing a bigger update tomorrow (it’s getting late here and I’ve been up since 6:30am) so the shop will contain something other than rings! Hehe.

Yup, that’s it (and yes, Diana, I was reading your blog when I took this screenshot, hehe). I’m so glad it’s up and running now. Go take a look. And buy a ring if you so wish to! Haha. Shameless self promotion has to be done somewhere!

Thank you all for being so patient with me whilst I’ve been distracted by this! My boyfriend deserves a huge treat of some kind for putting up with me! Haha. Life has been busy and wonderful at the moment for me personally and I’m happy you’ve all been here to share it.

It’s almost ready!

15 Apr

“What’s almost ready?” I hear you ask.

Yes, I’m opening an online shop. I’ve been a busy bee lately making things, calling on friends to model for me (and wishing away the overcast days that have taken over the skies when I want to take photos), getting my shop banner ready (although you’ll have to wait until the shop launch for that), and all sorts of other things involved with getting an online shop up and running. It’ll be an Etsy shop, which I know many of you already use and love.

To celebrate this grand opening, I’m offering you, my lovely blog readers, a few special launch products exclusively through my blog. I have 7 brooch/ring and brooch/earring sets at a special launch price! Some of the items will be repeated on Etsy individually, others are one-of-a-kind created especially for you guys and gals! Plus, I have waived postage for these special items!!

Purple Regiment Heart Brooch and Chains Ring

Arctic Rainbow Heart Brooch and Arctic Rose Ring

Vintage Floral Heart Brooch and Candystriper Heart Earrings

Green Lady Heart Brooch and Green Rose Earrings

Pink Patchwork Heart Brooch and Pink Roses Earrings

Blueberry Roses Heart Brooch and Blue Roses Earrings

Matryoshka Brooch and Matryoshka Button Ring

To buy any of these lovingly handcrafted items, please email me (jaqueline(at)craftyfoxes(.)co(.)uk) and I will send you a Paypal Invoice (I tried to add ‘Buy Now’ buttons but WordPress wouldn’t let me). Items will be sent out as soon as payment is received (I’ll email you to let you know they’ve been sent).

Remember, these sets will not be listed in the Crafty Foxes Etsy shop so get them before it’s too late!!

Thank you so much for putting up with me and my lack of posting here over the last few weeks. As anyone understands, starting up a small business venture isn’t an easy thing to do! But now the ball is rolling I’ll be here as usual with my inspirations and rants and whatever else I fancy posting about. I’ll also be back in a few days with the official opening of the Crafty Foxes Etsy shop! Eeeeeek!!! Love you all!!

The Sunday Round Up

4 Apr

This week’s Sunday Round Up is all about a few of my favourite Etsy sellers!! I love featuring them here and hopefully introducing new artists and makers to my blog readers.
(click on the banner or shop name to link through)

An illustrator who takes the nerd and turns it into something animal themed and amazing! This one is definitely me.

Savannah of Sleepy King is a maker of amazing animal plushies. Especially woodland creatures. I love her plushies and hope to own one at some point, maybe a fox or Ramona Rose. She’s pretty.

Rebecca of Rar Rar Press creates some amazing letterpress posters and cards with a sense of humour and a wise word or two. I particularly love the one below (so true!!)

My internet is playing up right now so I’m going to have to leave it at this for now, although I’ll definitely be featuring more soon! I hope you like what you see and help to support these lovely independent artists and makers at some point, if you haven’t already. Much love and health on this Easter Sunday.

Things I Must Do

1 Apr

1) Go to the gym – I joined yesterday and am going for my first session tomorrow morning. I’m kind of looking forward to feeling like I can’t walk on Saturday. The pain means that I’ve done something right and I’m finally on the path to losing the 20-35 kilos I want to lose!

2) Make this for dinner on Sunday (it’s Easter Sunday after all and I need to make something nice for my boyfriend and I to eat!)

A tasty, tasty Butternut Squash Lasagne from Naomi over at the gluttonous vegan. I’m really loving the recipes she has on there (my boyfriend is vegetarian and I don’t eat meat very often so it’s perfect!!!), so go check it out if you haven’t already!

3) Finish my brother-in-law’s scarf – this has been an ongoing project but as soon as I am done here I will get on it and try to finish it to give to my sister on Sunday on our weekly urban glamble.

4) Make 5 more rings for my new etsy shop, and make the banner so I can finally open this baby up!! (I’m hoping to fund both my gym membership and a place on this class with sales from my etsy shop)

5) Draw more.

6) Continue with my art journalling.

7) Start knitting up this…

It’s a cropped jacket kit from Purl Alpaca that my parents got me for my birthday. The wool is amazing and the picture of the alpaca it came from is even cuter!! I can’t wait to wear this! And it’ll be my first self-knitted garment!

Time to crack on with the list then! Be back with more soon.
