Pretty Things Thursday

19 Nov

Hello to all you lovely blog readers out there!! This week’s Pretty Things Thursday is full of pretty things I’m coveting right now! And yes, a few of them are from the latest RVA update that happened last night. So let’s begin!!

These are the four items that are on my most wanted list right now. I especially love the DIY Advent Calendar Kit. Such a great idea and as I’m not a huge fan of the chocolate ones anymore, this is definitely something that I want to do!! The sewing machine brooch is another personal favourite as I’m doing more and more on my sewing machine and becoming more confident with using it.

These creatures from Super Ninon have made my heart skip a beat recently. I love the expressions each of the plushies have on their faces! My favourite so far is definitely the foxy(?) lady in the bottom picture. Check out Super Ninon’s stuff on her flickr, her blog and buy these beautiful creations and more from her etsy.

P.S. This purse is my favourite out of all the ones she has in her etsy shop. Isn’t it beautiful?

Rachel’s inspiration wall and boards always inspire me and are always pretty. This is her November wall. Can’t wait to see what December has in store!

My obsession with pompoms will definitely be transferred into my Christmas presents this year and this is the perfect way to incorporate them!!

So this is a short but sweet one as I have to go make my lunch now before I set off to work! I hope you’ve enjoyed these pretty things as much as I have! Have a great Thursday – what have you got planned?

The Sunday Round Up

25 Oct

So, if this is the first time you’ve read my blog welcome. If not, do you like the new format? I changed it up yesterday – something that I’ve been thinking of doing for a while now but wasn’t quite sure what until I did it. Still a few more tweaks here and there but otherwise I’m happy. Onto the round up!

This weekend, for me, has seemingly disappeared without a trace! I’ve not done as much as I would have liked to have done, especially crafts-wise, but I’ve done a few things that I haven’t done for a while like baking. One thing I’ve never attempted was macaroons. That was until this afternoon. I was inspired by flickr yesterday while I was waiting for things to upload and change on my blog. They didn’t quite turn out as pretty as those on flickr BUT as you can see, I did have a good macaroon and a very bad macaroon, haha!

My macaroons

But for my first attempt I think I did okay! The colour was my boyfriend’s choice and the filling is chocolate ganache. They’re soooo sweet though. I felt a bit sick after I had one (saying that I had basically eaten a whole one through picking at the broken pieces). But they filled the craving I had for sweet things for sure! I also made butternut squash soup for dinner and have enough left for lunch for both of us tomorrow. Food was definitely where my head was at this weekend. I also made scones at 11.30pm Saturday evening after seeing ‘Fantastic Mr Fox’. No photos of those though as we basically wolfed our way through them yesterday and this morning, haha. Scones never last long in this house!

On the foodie theme, I thought I’d post some fantastic pictures I’ve found on flickr.

Deer Cupcake

I’m in love with this cupcake. If I have to make cupcakes again (I decorated all the ones for my sister’s wedding last year) I’ll definitely be doing this!

Pretty Macaroons

This was how I wished my macaroons had turned out, but there’s always next time!!

And finally, on a non-food related note, I’m daydreaming again about my perfect workspace. This one is a picture of Shauna’s from Something’s Hiding In Here.

I love the spectrum of the colours. I’m such a sucker for a rainbow.

So that takes us to the end of this weeks Sunday Round Up. I’ll be posting a few times this week as I’m taking part in A Week In The Life with a few other lovely blog ladies. I’ll have my camera and notebook with me everywhere I go to document my week, from the most boring to the possibly exciting events that could happen! I’m really looking forward to it and hopefully I’ll learn a few things about myself as well as enjoy the creative aspects it will include.

Do you have any yummy food stories to share from this weekend? I’d love to hear what your favourite recipe’s are if you have any. Hope you’ve had a great weekend and have a great week next week. I’ll be back soon!

Pretty Things Thursday

22 Oct

My shifts at work at the moment have been pretty regular which is nice and for the next few Thursday’s I’m working a late shift, which means that I have the whole morning to devote to things I enjoy doing! It also means that my Pretty Things Thursday posts will be up in the morning rather than me panicking about doing them after work in the evening.

So pretty things this week include…

Craft room

This craft room. I’m aching for a room of my own at the moment. I currently share my sewing space with my boyfriend’s studio/drawing space. It works but I’ve still managed to move half of my stuff into the living room and onto the dining table. I need better storage and once I have that it’ll be okay…but I’d still LOVE my own room for just MY stuff, hehe.

Ms Denbow strikes again with her amazing style and taste! Once I have a house that I can call my own, I hope that it’ll look half as pretty as hers!

Pretty tea cups

I have an amazing weakness for anything that involves tea party paraphernalia. I’ve been to Afternoon Tea at the Berkley Hotel a couple of times and loved it – if you live in London and love fashion it’s a must do, it’s called Pret-A-Portea and it’s soooo cute. If I had more space I would collect more tea cups and cake stands (although I have 5 cake stands already).

Pretty suitcases

I love these suitcases. That’s all I have to say about them. -sigh-

Pretty displays

And finally a couple of photos from the wonderful Miss Elsie, who continually inspires me. I love the display she has in her kitchen. I have quite a few small prints that I need to display somehow and this is such a good way of doing it.

So have a great day people. Enjoy the pretty things this Thursday and I’ll be back soon for more blogging action.
